There’s something to be said about motivational and inspirational quotes. Precisely, PTSD quotes that bring a positive way of thinking.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Remission
More importantly, recognizing the power of positivity that PTSD quotes have over our thought processes. Seriously, we can be in a bad way, to the point where we can convince ourselves of the worst things possible. In the same way, we can convince ourselves of the ultimate most wonderful things. The choice is ours.
Dedication of Reading PTSD Quotes
Initially, it takes some dedication and practice to learn the skill of turning that switch and changing your train of thought in a matter of seconds. When we are faced with life’s adversities and challenges, no matter how big or small, stress and anxiety nestle right down inside of us. And, if we dwell on it, the anxiety can overwhelm our mind and body to the point of creating a prison for ourselves.
Then, throw in a mental illness. That’s when anxiety can seem a lot louder than it really is. Of course it’s hard to ignore. Especially if we continue to dwell in that head space, which only amplifies the negativity. When anxiety is charged with amplification, it may easily evolve into a slew of PTSD symptoms. And if not addressed cognitively we find ourselves spiraling into the abyss of a PTSD episode.
PTSD Episodes and Symptoms
If you experience anything like me and my husband, a PTSD episode can inevitable last for several hours. Even days. There have been countless nights of falling asleep (if at all) only to wake up in the same PTSD episode that was believed to have ceased when sleep was possible. There is a lot more to PTSD and episodes than simply symptoms. There are the triggers, and then, of course, the residual symptoms. Now, PTSD residual symptoms are what my husband vote as the worst part the entire experience. But one noticeable thing is that the longer one goes through therapy, practices what they are taught, applies self-support activities, then the shorter the episodes become.
More importantly, the less intense any and all of the symptoms end up being. Specifically, one of the most helpful self-support activities that both of us implement, almost daily, are reading several positive PTSD quotes. Then, even more meaningful, sharing the best ones with each other not only brings another sense of connecting on a deeper level, but also enriches our day. There are times when we cannot fall asleep. Whether it be due to the fear of nightmares or insomnia, many contributors can keep someone affected by PTSD from getting peaceful and healing sleep. Catching those zzz’s can be troublesome.
For instance, do you ever get anxiety before going to bed? But then, feel more anxious because of your anxiety? It’s like I used to joke with my husband, “My anxiety has anxiety”.

Needless to say, anxiety has a nasty way of producing negative thoughts that end up manifesting into severe symptoms. That’s why including PTSD quotes that promote positive thoughts is crucial. In fact, viewing positive videos on YouTube will reveal that our brain literally has a five second window to change our thought process.
The point here is not focus on all the negative aspects revolving around the diagnosis of PTSD. Actually, the focus is to redirect our thoughts to something joyful, inspiring, and positive. By refocusing attention to pleasant thought-provoking stimuli, anxieties will subside. In turn, preventing the onset of a PTSD episode. Surprisingly, this process is easier than you might realize.
Here’s what you do. Simply scroll through my favorite PTSD quotes, reading each one. Be sure to save your favorite PTSD quotes to your phone, computer, or mobile devices. This way, you can access them anytime. Find inspiration. Turning your attention away from the anxiety that’s playing tug-of-war with your mind and body. This will take anxiety’s power away and diminish it quickly.
PTSD Quotes Affect Your Thought Process
Some times your thought process will change after reading just a couple of these PTSD quotes. While other instances may call for reading several PTSD quotes, and that’s okay. Stick with this and soon you will notice the process of flipping that switch becomes natural. In the same fashion, it will become a new joy inducing habit that is second nature for you. The more you practice regaining control of your head space, the quicker the time will be between anxiety creeping up and you kicking anxiety’s ass!

Hi there, my wife of twenty years has PTSD stemming from Childhood Sexual Abuse. gone untreated for too long. She refuses to seek therapy. has pushed me out of her life, I believe rather than addressing that the Abuse is the cause of her PTSD. she has made me the bad guy, not only in her mind but to anyone who will listen. my son and i had to move out of the house, as things became to unstable for him. we are trying to get her to see a therapist, which she has done, but i feel from past experiences, it wont last. Our marriage has gone from pretty good to her retaining a divorce lawyer to her putting a hold on divorce in three weeks. i am now stuck in this holding pattern of her deciding what she wants. for the first time in my life I feel it is time to walk away. I don’t say that lightly, i love my wife more that anything on this earth, but how much hurt can i cope with. she threw her wedding ring out, she ripped up our wedding pictures, she started burning my belongings in the fire pit, she has made claims of abuse to her family, her lawyer, and all on FB to see. she has cut communication with me, only phoning when she needs something. I feel helpless. thank you for your website it has brought some light into a very dark situation.

My husband was diagnosed with PTSD/alcohol and substance abuse three years ago. We’ve been living with this for 42 yrs. He’s a Vietnam Vet.
Last year I found things out that he was doing, that I just can’t wrap my head around. He’s been getting high with younger women ( could be his daughters or grand daughters) and texting them inappropriately. I just can’t get past this. When he gets high (can’t go more than 12 weeks without it,) he stays out till the next morning, then some. With cell phones, he could be texting druggies while I’m in the room!
I know it’s part of PTSD but this part I have a very hard time with!
Thanks for letting me vent!
